Fr. CRCE National Memorial Debate, 2013:
In contemporary times, India, a nation on the ascent is plagued with turmoil which continues to impend in our struggle for prosperity. The legacy of our forbearers symbolized India as an embodiment of both equanimity cherished legacy as well as our national sentiments of hope and determination; Fr. CRCE proudly presented the theme for the academic year 2013-14 as 'Shifting towards Equinox'.
The Fr. CRCE Memorial debate opened with a great zeal and zest with a total number of 32 teams competing against each other in a total of 28 rounds. The topics were diverse to say the least raging from social, economic, political issues to contemporary sports and philosophy. The battle raged on with great vigor leading to the elimination of 28 teams and after two engaging semi-finals we had our finalists from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Management, Nagpur and NMIMS-School of Pharmacy and Technology, Mumbai. NMIMS emerged as victors of the 15th edition of the National Memorial Debate. Eminent media personality, Bacchi Karkaria dazzled one and all with her startling wit and also complemented the Students. Council and Debate Committee on the efforts undertaken by them to showcase this spectacular event.
February is the month in which one can see CRCE like never before. Amidst the competitive air, the spirit of the college individuals, the spirit of Fr. CRCE, the spirit of "An Engineer Who Builds the Nation" is witnessed.
This two day event in February saw talent oozing out of the students of Fr. CRCE. Dance, drama, literature, music. We saw the best of all. The college band performance and DJ night forced the whole of Fr. CRCE to groove to the rhythm of the music. The inter-collegiate dance competition, PARIDHAN'14, comprised of 7 dance teams from colleges across Mumbai to compete for the winner's position.
So in the end we learned that we are all winners; victory comes to some, so does failure, in the end however it.s just a matter of perception.
CResCEndo...riding high on 'Techcellence', the most anticipated event of FR. CRCE, Bandra. One of the top colleges of the Mumbai University, the fest hosts one of the most exciting and amazing technical events right from the inter class to the inter college level. Hosting such a technical fest for over a decade now, CResCEndo 2013 was conducted successfully under the guidance of Principal, Dr. Srija Unnikrishnan and Cultural In-Charge Mrs. Monica Khanore over a period of two days, 27th and 28th September.
Being the only event where all the pillars of Fr. CRCE such as IEEE, CSI, SAE, WIE, CESA, ITSA, NEN E-Cell, Rotract Club, ISME and NSS come together, CResCendo holds an important place as this is the only event where all the student chapters of the college work collectively and give in their best to make the event a grand success.
CResCEndo'13 had a number of events right from Coding Competitions to LAN Gaming to workshops conducted by TCS with the help of ITSA. The main objective of the festival is to develop the technical skills of the students while enjoying the various events and having fun. The most popular events included the Laser Tag, LAN Gaming, Paintball and Robotics which received an unprecedented response. True to Mumbai spirit, non technical events such as Tattoo-making, 'On the Spot skit'. Mumbai-behind the scenes and AD-venture were hits adding fun element to the event..
The PR team did a splendid job in reaching out to more than 25 colleges. The hard work and efforts put in by all the students associated with the fest paid off as the fest was appreciated by everyone and it was a commendable success with large scale participation from everyone.
