We are proud to state that for nearly twelve years, our college, Fr. CRCE has been consistently setting new heights of excellence, and attaining them, in the form of the Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Memorial Debate, an endeavour to showcase orating prowess and genius in the field of debating. The theme for the 11th Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues Memorial Debate was "India Poised - On The Verge Of Greatness". With the advent of a stable government and our resistance to worldwide recession, India is indeed 'Poised on the verge of Greatness'. Hence, our adherence to current affairs and relevant themes prompted us to choose this theme last year. The unique feature about this year.s Memorial Debate was that it was held in our own newly constructed state of the art auditorium, Samvaad.
CResCEndo'09 - Fr. CRCE's Inter College Technical Festival was successfully conducted on the 25th and 26th of September 2009. Fr. CRCE has been hosting its very own Inter-College Technical Festival for over 7 years now but this year was like never before for the very fact that along with technical prowess it was theme-centric! The theme this year revolved around problems faced by the one and only planet we have - Earth, and was revealed by our Green events which in small ways tried highlighting these problems. The various factions of CRCE such as IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers), CSI (Computer Society of India), ISME (Indian Society of Manufacturing Engineers), NEN (National Entrepreneurship Network), Thinkers. Club and a branch of theirs called The MAD (Motion pictures, Arts and Drama) Society and NSS (National Service Scheme) worked together endlessly under one banner to promote and strive for excellence in technology and service.
The event following crescendo was the Sports Week which was held in October. It consisted of various sporting events like rink football, volleyball, throwball for boys n girls. It received tremendous response from all over Mumbai .
EUPHORIA- CRCE's very own annual cultural festival now inter collegiate was held across a span of 3 days from the 25th February to the 27th February 2010.
Day 1 i.e. the 25th Feb. saw events like Mehendi, Rangoli, Painting, Solo Dancing, English, Hindi Solo Singing and many others which received an enthusiastic response from all the students. In the evening we had our very own College band playing followed by our inter college events (Paridhan) which was held at the Rang Sharada Auditorium(Bandra). This year Paridhan not only had the inter collegiate Fashion show but also the inter collegiate Dance which was a grand success!
Day 2 i.e. the 26th Feb. saw new events like Brush Away, Teri Meri Bhasha, Dress From Waste and Test your senses.., The performing arts finals which included events like ENGLISH SOLO SINGING, HINDI SOLO SINGING, INSTRUMENTAL were held in the newly constructed state of the art auditorium Samvaad and judged by none other than Shreya Ghoshal!
This year we introduced an event for the final year students- MR. And MS. CRCE which received a very good response. CRCE ROADIES- an event never done before was the right mixture of talent, intellect, and test of physical and mental ability. It got an astounding response and was appreciated. Then came the Orchestra night where CRCE'S best singers had the students dancing to their tunes!.
The FINAL DAY i.e. the 27th Feb. was held at Yashwant Natya Mandir (Matunga). This day saw all the intra-college performances. After all the practice and screening; the second and third years performed as per the themes given to them. The F.E.'S being their first year and B.E.'S being their final year were given a freedom of choice. The Annual Day Ceremony was a prestigious occasion. This was followed by the unveiling of our College magazine- FRAGMAG!.
The hard work, dedication and sincerity of all those associated with Euphoria 2010 finally paid off as it was a commendable success.
That is all until the next newsletter........
